Community Safety Update – Gorton & Levenshulme |
||
|
We want to make residents aware that we have seen a recent, localised increase in residential burglaries across parts of Gorton and Levenshulme, mainly during the early hours of the morning.
Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team is taking this seriously. Officers are carrying out proactive patrols in uniform and plain clothes to disrupt and detect offences, protect residents, and deter those responsible.
You can help reduce the risk by taking a few simple steps:
• Keep doors and windows locked, even when you’re at home • Don’t leave keys or valuables on display, especially near letterboxes • Use alarms, security lighting, or doorbell cameras where possible • Avoid leaving packaging from expensive items outside • Report any suspicious activity straight away – call 101, or 999 in an emergency
We understand the worry burglaries cause and want to reassure the community that this is a priority for us. Increased visibility and targeted activity will continue across the area.
If you have any information, please contact us via 101, online at gmp.police.uk, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Thank you for helping us keep Gorton and Levenshulme safe.
